11.30 - 12 noon Stone Choral Society in the Market Square

For nearly 40 years Stone Choral Society have been making music in Stone, performing a wide range of music .Drop by the Market Square to hear us sing music by John Rutter and Gustav Holst. This will be followed by a workshop in the Crown Hotel. (See Below)
12 - 12.30 Busking competition
continue your tour of the buskers and find out who wins the prizes!
12.30 - 1pm Stone Choral Society continue their performance in the Market Square.
1.30pm Stone Choral Society Master Class,

Come and enjoy singing together with Stone Choral Society in a fun and informal open session led by our musical director Sarah Forbes. Absolutely no experience necessary - just turn up and have a go at learning simple rounds from around the world and arrangements of popular classics. All ages and abilities welcome, even if you think you can't sing! All of the Stone Choral Society events in the Festival are free!
1.30pm Meet with Maurice Dickson in the Oak Room, Crown Hotel.
Get to know the man behind the music, including guitar workshop, Q&A and performance,

2.00pm The Mayors Choice 'Murphys Marbles'
Murphys marbles will be playing in the high street from 2.00pm. Their line-up includes guitars, fiddle, whistle, flute, bass, mandolin, bodhran and harmonica. The Marbles have performed the length and breadth of the country, Ireland, and Europe at numerous major festivals.Their stage performance is charismatic and dynamic. Their music is Celtic based, a mixture of traditional and contemporary with a cutting edge.
3.00pm 'The Blueshounds' performing at the ampitheatre
The Blueshounds of Stone are a Staffordshire based, five piece band who play electric rhythm and blues music. They perform cover versions of great R&B classics by such artists as Howlin’ Wolf, Buddy Guy, Freddie King and covers of more modern songs originally by Stevie Ray Vaughan, Robben Ford and Cream. 3.00pm Chinese Dragon
Stone High Street plays host to a Dancing Chinese Dragon courtesy of the Oriental Garden, Radford Street, Stone.
3.30pm * The Mayors Choice *
Hear Stonefield Singers Male Voice Choir sing in the Market Square. The music festival is very pleased to have this long established and well known group which, aside from their impeccable performances, aims to promote male voice choir singing and to aid other organisations such as churches, to raise funds to maintain their existence.
FREE CONCERT, retiring collection.
3.30pm Paul Dennis Open Mike
Red Lion, High Street, Stone.

Professional (and classically trained) guitarist, Paul has gigged in the UK, Europe and the States. Currently based in Manchester, Paul teaches, sings and writes and is currently involved in projects with Gemma Moss and 'The Ambush.'
7.00pm China Crisis play live in the Market Square
Are you a child of the eighties? The massive eighties Liverpool band China Crisis are celebrating 25 years together in 2008. They have appeared with Bowie, U2, the Eurythmics and Simple Minds but now they are here in Stone for our music festival. Don't miss this fantastic gig.

7.30pm Atsuko Sahara, plays Beethoven's Violin Concerto
Travelling all the way from her current home in vienna, Japan's greatest young violinist plays Beethoven's Violin Concerto with; The North Staffordshire Symphony Orchestra in Christchurch, Stone.
